Beautiful, funny, kind, strong, passionate, someone I look up to in life. She’s the kind of person with whom you would spend some time and want to be friend with.
Delphine Dholah is a 24 year old Mauritian woman who’s a part time model and assistant manager at Gold Models. She is one of the most known faces on the island namely for her eyes (I don’t think I can name their exact color, yellow, golden orange may be ... anyway mesmerizing eyes). The gorgeous model has been the cover girl for Essentielle several times, the face of many brands like Oriya by Annabelle Fleury and has worked with the best of the industry.
Among the things that make me feel really uncomfortable in the beauty industry, bad attitude is the worst. When a model sits in front of me for her makeup with a diva-ish attitude it instantly triggers my insecurities and I have to be very focused on my own feelings to get the job done and still being respectful and calm. People, who are respectful, open minded and who trust you as an artist create this peaceful and productive environment for me to connect with them and create a makeup that suits them best.
Delphine is the second type of model. She listens to you, trusts you and makes it so easy to work with her. I never heard her complaining with a client during a shoot or event, she gets the job done perfectly and with a huge smile. Should there be a tensed situation, she would handle it so well simply by talking calmly, controlling even the most hysterical ones. Like I don’t know how she does this… ok, maybe I do. Delphine loves her job and it shows in the way she behaves and treats others.
I know how easy it is to lose yourself when you start to get well-known and how difficult it is to be yourself, different from what others read and see on magazines or social media. Thank you Delphine for being yourself and showing to aspiring models that you get to succeed at what you love doing while uplifting others.
