I am a huge fan of Maybelline, the first makeups I ever used were from this brand and it has always been a love story between me and their products. However, I never tried the Fit Me foundation or The Great Lash because the foundation wasn’t available in Mauritius and the mascara had this basic packaging that’s rather basic and I wasn’t attracted by it. But or I’d rather say BUUUUUT these products started to grow on me when they were featured way too often on some of my favorite Youtubers’ channel, without me trying them. Let’s jump into this review.
Fit Me Foundation
When I first received this foundation my first thought were hmmm this packaging, not the most attractive and I didn’t really want to try it BUT then I used it for a live makeup and I was BLOWN AWAY! LITERALY BLOWN AWAY!
This is a fluid foundation that claims to refine the pores, to mattify, to erases the pores and match the skin tone. And YES YES YES it does mattify and match the skin tone and texture. I am a powder person but for the first time ever I used a foundation without setting it with powder. The finish is super pretty and it is so easy to work with. I love it. I LOVE IT!
You can definitely feel my excitement and I can’t believe I am actually writing this but this is now my favorite foundation. I have been very faithful to the Makeup Forever HD foundation for years because it’s so fluid, high coverage but at the same time natural. It actually feels like I'm using the Makeup Forever HD foundation but I feel that it stays longer and that Matte but natural finish is just … I don’t know, may be what Beyoncé is to music or cheese cream frosting to a red velvet cupcake.
The Great Lash
The number one in the USA, every 2 second one of this is sold in the world and it is an award-winning mascara. Well when you hear all this you really have to try it and decided to buy two Great Lash and review it.
First the price RS 189 for a mascara :O :O :O. Do I need to say more about the price?
I have medium length eyelashes and consider myself kind of blessed. Many types of mascara would make them look like false eyelashes but not this one and I loved that as I feel more comfortable wearing makeup that look natural. It lengthened my eyelashes and separated them and didn’t look patchy.
I kept it for approximately 6 hours, it did not flake under my eyes and that something I love about it as it can be very painful to have mascara flakes falling into your eyes. When it was time to remove it I applied some water onto my lashes to test its resistance to water and I barely had some black residues on my finger. Loved that too.
I liked it on myself but being honest I wasn’t blown away by the way it looked and I don’t think that someone who wants to look like they have falsies on will fall in love with it. It is a mascara I would definitely recommend for men or for ladies who want natural lashes, something that’s long stay and comfortable to wear.
Here comes the end of the review of these two classics in makeup, I was pleasantly surprised by both and these are definitely makeups I will keep on using. You can buy the Fit Me Foundation and The Great Lash at the Maybelline Kiosk at Trianon Shopping Park. If you do, make sure to tag me on Instagram @hanstelvave.
