Glowing and radiant skin is one of the best ways of achieving a natural foundation. Here are some fantastic tips that will help you achieve dewy skin:
It is very important to start by moisturizing your skin with your cream and let it sink in for some minutes. What I like to do is apply the moisturizer on clean skin and let it sink it while I’m working on the eyes. If you apply the moisturizer and the foundation directly after it can sometimes look a bit too shinny and we don’t want that.
Choose the right primer
Primer is essential if you want your makeup to last whole day/night but be careful to choose the right one. If I want a dewy look I will rather go for light primers instead of primers with a lot of silicone smoothers. Creamy, luminous and pearly primers are very appropriate and my favorite has to be Radiance by Laura Mercier. #inlove
When it comes to foundation you can choose among mainly liquid, compact or creamy foundations and liquid foundation should be your number one choice for this look. I love the HD foundation of Makeup Forever but my new darling is the Diorskin Nude Air Serum Foundation of Dior, I will have to talk about this soon. #superinlove
Yes, you read it right. I said dewy and not oily. With humidity powdering is an important step if you want your makeup to stay. However I powder only the middle of the T zone and the under eye area kind of heavily (like a small bake) using the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder and use the faintest amount of compact powder for the rest of the face. An amazing tip to powder very lightly is to use a fan brush; you’ll pick up just the right amount of product using this method.
Cream and shimmer
I bet some of you who have oily skin are feeling meh about this post because dewy look and oily skin don’t really make a good match. Then this tip is going to help you to fake it as it only concern blush and highlighting. Using a cream blush is the ideal dupe for dewy skin as it will bring this moist illusion on your cheeks. I also like to layer cream highlighters and powder highlighters for a fabulous glow on certain points.
Shimmery powder blushes can also bring a nice effect to the face for those who want a softer type of glow.
Finishing spray is amazing to set the makeup onto your face but it also helps to remove the powdery effect of makeup. Spray onto your face and use a hand fan or an object like that to make it dry. This will lock your makeup in.
