Hello divine women and fans, wow it’s been a while (laugh)… I am back and I seize this opportunity to catch up with you on a topic that’s very dear to my heart; dark skin tone. I was approached by some black women recently who asked whether I do makeup for black women. I was surprised by their question and doubts. I then went through the pictures displayed on my page and noticed that indeed there weren’t many photos of black women.
Thank you to these women for opening my eyes about this topic, diversity and representation of every skin tone. Every woman is beautiful and worth feeling accepted in our society might it be in terms of opportunity, rights and services available.
Yes I do makeup for black women and I am deeply in love with their skin tone because they often have amazing skin and they always look younger and healthier than others. My mother is black and it I happened to hear her receiving belittling comments about her skin tone during my childhood and that encouraged me to bring awareness to the worth and rights of people of color at the beginning of my career while co organizing a makeup and hair event for black and mixed women. You can read more about it here.
To everyone asking if I do makeup for black women, here are some looks I have created on them.
Enjoy and see you soon.
