I’m sitting at my desk, eating biscuits and yogurt and thinking about the beautiful time I had. The launch of La Savonnerie Créole was last Thursday and I was blessed to be invited. Blessed is an understatement and you will soon discover why?
In 2017 I was contacted by one of my favorite local photographers to work on a shoot for Lise Maujean. A stunning woman who was celebrating her 40th birthday. She wanted to do photos of her on this occasion. Do you know that feeling you have, the moment you first see someone with a big heart and a powerful aura? That’s what I felt. I was impressed but also very comfortable while being with such a beautiful, deep and grounded person. I am writing about her because she is the alchemist behind La Savonnerie Créole.
I know that Lise and her team have been working on this for a while and it showed when I entered the shop. The decoration was ON POINT! LIKE ON POINT TO ANOTHER LEVEL! The display, the flowers, the accessories, every detail was well thought of. I could feel all the love they’ve been putting in creating this wellness heaven and genuinely hats off to you guys for this masterpiece.
Where is La Savonnerie Créole? The shop is found at Vacoas in a colonial house at the Dr Chiranjiv Bhardwaj Street. When you step into the shop the most impacting thing is the smell. I never thought a place could smell that good. Neither five star hotels nor perfume shops where I have been in could ever compete with this shop when it comes to the smell. It smells like… I have no words, its OMG! The holy grail of good smell!
What is La Savonnerie Créole? Previously known as The Soap Shop, it has been re branded to La Savonnerie Creole. It is a shop selling handcrafted soap made out of natural ingredients. Body scrub, face scrub, body cream, face cream, soaps, oils and other skin care options are available. I have been using their products for months; the scrub and body cream are among my favorite items. Each time I feel the need to connect with myself and practice some self-love; I take a shower and exfoliate. After exfoliating I rinse my body with water but not soap to keep the oils on my skin. My skin feels moisturized and rejuvenated after that. And I smell gooooood for hours! I tried a pinacolada scrub during the launching, it was 4 hours earlier and my arm is still soft and smells so good. I want to smell like this every day! Hahaha!
Another major asset that La Savonnerie Créole has, it’s how beautiful the products are. You know the basic oval or rectangle soap we usually see, forget about these! Thanks to La Savonnerie Créole you can shower with a cupcake or a macaron! You read it right, the soaps are molded into cupcakes, macarons and cake slices etc. They look as good as they smell and as good as they are!
La Savonnerie Créole is a beautiful place to be and to buy quality products. Each time you will invest in one of their products you will reward the love that Lise and her team put in their work. Everything in life, the simplest or the most complicated object might it be a weapon, soap or a brush has the power you give to it. It also applies to cosmetics; they have the power to change your life, only if want them to do so.
